NEW ARRIVAL - CHARGE D'AFFAIRES a.i MRS. WINNIE M. ROGERS
The Embassy would like to inform of the arrival of Mrs. Winnie Mwanjala Rogers, who is a career Diplomat having started in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991 as a cadet. She has risen through the ranks during her span of over twenty-five years in the field of Diplomacy.
She has worked in different Departments in the Ministry Headquarters inter-alia Protocol, Administration, Kenya Mission to UNEP.
In her diplomatic career, she has worked as the Deputy Head of Mission at Kenya High Commission Canberra, Australia, Kenya Embassy Tripoli, Libya and Kenya Embassy Stockholm, Sweden. She was also acting Ambassador of Kenya to Tripoli, Libya for one year. She also acted as Kenya High Commissioner to Canberra, Australia and acting Ambassador to Stockholm, Sweden.
NEW ARRIVAL - FIRST SECRETARY DR. DOROTHY ROTICH
The Embassy would like to inform of the arrival of Dr. Dorothy Rotich, who joined the Mission in August in the capacity of First Secretary.
END OF TOUR OF DUTY OF MR. HILLARY N. KYENGO
The Embassy wishes to inform that Minister Counsellor, Mr. Hillary N. Kyengo returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Nairobi in September 2018, he served in the Mission in Moscow from January 2016.
The Mission wishes him well in his next assignment.
END OF TOUR OF DUTY OF MR. SALIM M. SALIM
The Embassy wishes to inform that Minister Counsellor, Mr. Salim M. Salim has returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters after 11 months tour of duty that started in August 2017 in Moscow, Russia.
The Mission wishes him well in his next assignment.
NEW ARRIVAL – Mr. Salim M. Salim
The Embassy would like to inform you of the arrival of Mr. Salim M. Salim in August 2017, he assumes the position of Charge d’Affaires.
Mr. Salim M Salim is a long serving career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya. He is currently the Charge d'Affaires at the Kenya Embassy, Moscow. In the recent years (2014) he served as the Deputy Head of the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic (MISCA). In 2015, he served as the Director, Middle East Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nairobi.
He has worked in various directorates at the Ministry Hqs including in Protocol, Africa & AU, Europe & Commonwealth, UN & Multilateral and MiddleEast directorates.
He has also served in Kenya Embassy in Saudi Arabia-(1996-99), Kenya Embassy in France - (2001-2005), and Kenya Mission to UN, New York - (2008-2012).
Mr. Salim has an MA in International Studies from the University of Nairobi. He holds a BA in Political Science and Literature from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Postgraduate diploma in Diplomacy from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroun and a Diploma in Multilateral Diplomacy from the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales, Geneva (2000-2001). He is also a graduate of the National Defence College (NDC) of Kenya (2016-2017). Mr. Salim is a fluent Kiswahili, English and French speaker and holds a Diplome de Langue Francaise-Paris (1993) and Advanced French Language diploma from the Kenya Institute of Administration (1992).
Mr.Salim has for many years been part of the Kenya negotiating team on Disarmament agenda, including negotiations on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), the Cluster Munitions Convention, the Ottawa Convention on landmines and the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT).In 2012 he was elected and served as a Vice Chair of the First Committee (Disarmament) of the 67 UN General Assembly. He has also attended several courses and training in Peacekeeping, Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution.
We are pleased to inform of the arrival of Mr. Hillary N. Kyengo and his family to Kenya Embassy, Moscow, Russia. He joins the Mission as the Deputy Head of the Mission. Mr. Kyengo is an experienced diplomat who has been in the Civil Service for more than twenty (20) years. Mr. Kyengo is married to Mrs. Ruth Ndinda and they are blessed with three (3) sons.
Mr. Hillary has also served as Deputy Head of Mission in Kenya High Comission to Botswana and Kenya Embassy to Somalia. He also briefly served in our Mission in Kuala Lumpur.
Mr. Hillary Kyengo is a continuing PhD student in the field of diplomacy. He had a Masters degree in International relations from University of Nairobi, a Bachelor degree in political Science from Moi University and a diploma in Policy and Strategic Management from Kenya National Defence College. He also holds several certificates in the field of diplomacy and International relations from various International prestigious institutions.
We have no doubt that Mr. Kyengo will add value to the mission and going forward continue to strengthen the already existing relations between Kenya and the Russian Federation.
Mr. Kyengo joins a team of experienced officers at the Mission. We wish him all the best in the Russian Federation.
